MEET
AMANDA
This is where I am supposed to tell you about myself.
Usually this part reads like a resume of education and experience - or any information a therapist thinks you may care about - and usually with all those “therapy” words. But really, I want to let you know the kind of client that I tend to have the most success helping, so that you can make the decision if this is a good fit for you or not. After all, this is about you.
The clients who are the most successful in therapy with me are ones who come ready to work and understand that I’m not going to wave my magic wand and have their problems disappear. I mean, if I could, I would. They appreciate my straightforward approach, and that I don’t tiptoe around their issues. They are motivated and committed to their own growth - even if they don’t know what that looks like yet. They are ready to give up the old habits and old narrative.
You are looking for therapy that speaks to you as an individual. You want to be happy, experience growth and to rid yourself of bullshit. Maybe you don’t know who you are anymore, you take too much on, especially from others, or you’re just feeling “burnt out”.

SO? WHO AM I?
“I Try To Be The Therapist I Want To See.”
I keep it real, and sometimes I’m known to let out a few choice words in session. I am all about being vulnerable and authentic.
My clients are encouraged to be the same. I will simultaneously cheerlead and challenge you. I love working with people and bearing witness to that ‘aha’ moment where things just click for them.
Together we will tailor the best course of treatment for you. Y’ALL
READY FOR THIS?

INDIVIDUAL COUNSELLING, WOMEN’S ISSUES, HIGH-ACHIEVER BURNOUT, ADHD COACHING & COUPLES COUNSELLING
My ideal client is you - someone struggling with their perfectionism, work stress, or over-achieving nature.
INDIVIDUAL COUNSELLING
You may experience “failure to launch” - an inability to just do those things that you know you need to do. As a woman diagnosed with ADHD in her adulthood, I know it is more than just “doing the things”.
Perhaps you are worrying too much about what others are saying or doing, or you struggle to set boundaries or find time for yourself. Feelings of shame, guilt, inadequacy, anxiety, produced by trauma, addiction, unhealthy relationships, and attachment problems are common in individual counselling.
I offer one-on-one counselling that suits your emotional needs - whatever they may be. Individualized, outpatient therapy in a welcoming and relaxing environment. I operate from a hybrid approach, with in-person sessions or virtually with a personal health information safe platform.

For Women with (most of) Their Shit Together.
WOMEN’S ISSUES
Perfectly Imperfect. Perfectionism comes from a place of fear - fear of not being good enough, not doing enough or that yucky place of shame that people will see the “real” you, or the countless mistakes you think you make.
Perfectionism, over-achieving, and care-taking of others generally manifests itself in a childhood of chaos or function. Maybe not overtly, but there is a reason you feel compelled to take care of everyone else, to perform or be recognized for that performance and the fear of what will happen if others see that on the inside you may really feel insecure, unworthy or perhaps even feel like an imposter.
As a woman who has been through her fair share of crap, I understand the inherent challenges and obstacles women face. I get that many women have to contend with outdated stereotypes, antiquated roles, unrealistic expectations – all of which can crush your soul, stifle your individuality and lead you down the dark road of people-pleasing perfectionism, to the detriment of your own bliss.
Low self-esteem, a lost sense of self or identity, low self-image, these are only a few struggles we have on a good day. I can help you find your worth, increase your self-loving capacity and embrace the life you deserve through a supportive, yet directive counselling approach. We will process the need to be ‘perfect’, to squelch your own voice, to do everything for everyone else without complaint or wanting for yourself. The ‘mom guilt,’ unrealistic body image, warped definitions of femininity.
This is your path - and we can help you feel supported in the ways YOU need.

It has nothing to do with the job you do.
HIGH-ACHIEVER BURNOUT
It all has to do with how you feel;
Driven. Ambitious. Hungry. Goal-oriented.
And then cue the;
Irritability. Exhaustion. Detachment. Overwhelm.
You always run at higher RPMs than most; you always thought you worked best under pressure. Your general state of being is about productivity and efficiency. You just get shit done.
And then things changed. Slowly, at first. Becoming more irritable, snapping, withdrawing from friends, family. EVERYTHING feels like it just takes too much effort. And you’ve tried to just push yourself harder. Stronger. Nothing “really” changed. Or so you thought.
And now everyone expects ALL the things from you ALL of the time. Family, colleagues, your partner.
And almost worst of all, you expect it from yourself too.
What you’re currently doing? It ain’t sustainable. And you know it.
You can change this path. You can intentionally create different outcomes for yourself. That still allows you to dream big, achieve lofty goals - just differently so.

I don’t take sides.
COUPLES COUNSELLING
You are struggling to recognize the person sitting across from you or sleeping beside you. You can’t quite figure out when it all fell apart, or you can remember the exact breaking point. You feel like strangers - two ships passing in the night.
Couples counselling is about working together with an objective third party to co-create or rebuild a foundation to help achieve a strong, deep and positive connection with your partner. I can help the two of you navigate the seemingly scary world of vulnerability and feelings. I aim to support and guide you in learning your partner’s language - but even more importantly - to develop better relational skills. After all, you want to learn how to communicate and connect with each other in a loving, kind and understanding way - not just how to fight nicer.
Relationships are hard work.
I want to make sure that everyone feels they are in a safe place to open up and get some work done. If you’re looking for a therapist who will pick a side, or play the blame game, I ain’t for you. I am here to help you - if you want to be helped. If this is the last kick at the can - make sure it’s a good one.
Here’s a word of warning - with couples, it isn’t always about making things better and keeping the relationship intact at all costs. It is about creating awareness, which leads to action. That could mean recognizing that it is time to move on. Whatever is the healthiest option, that’s the one we will work towards.
My practice identifies and welcomes couple counselling as occurring between two parties of any gender binary, non-binary, trans, cis and of any sexual orientation, or combination of.
Just keep in mind, more than three is a party (bah dum tss) Kidding - I welcome polyamourous couples or thruples as well.
The relationship you have with your partner can be the strongest, and yet most challenging as they often get the worst of us at the end of the day. Therapy can never be started too early however, is often started too late.

This is a space where we explore the duality of being therapist + human — and build clinical and business confidence along the way.
It is your time to use how you need.
